How to enter your choir

  1. Register your choir via the registration page. Registration fee is AED 55 per person (Inc. VAT)
  2. Once registered you will receive an automated email to complete your payment. If you have not received the email please fill in this form to complete payment.
  3. For the final step, Submit your choir's song and performance details through the link provided in the choir registration confirmation email

All choirs are requested to submit photos

Competition Categories

  School Choirs: 3 categories of Junior, Senior and Adult

Competition Rules

- There is no maximum number of singers for a participating choir

- There is free choice with regards to performance pieces

- Each school choir is allowed an 8-minute performance, whereas adults have a 10-minute allocation

- Choirs may submit two pieces if they so choose

- Choirs may be of any type: a cappella, jazz, chamber, barbershop, choral society, etc

Judging Criteria

Technical Ability (75%) – tuning, diction, voice quality, balance, ensemble, dynamics and sound

Musical Expression (25%) – communication, phrasing, passion, energy, commitment and interpretation of the text

Accompaniment

There will be a piano on stage for accompaniment purposes should it be needed for use by choirs. The choirs may also provide alternative instrumental backing or choose to sing a cappella

Please inform our team if you need any special sound equipment for your performance, if there are any solos, and exactly what instruments will be on stage, if any

(Please note that ChoirFestME will not be providing an accompanist for your choir)
